@Update Sep 27 “It’s dark and sexy.” According to Eurogamer and EVE Online creative director Torfi Frans Olafsson the game is already in a playable state. “[It’s] in development but I don’t have any comments on the status or the progress except that I’ve played it.” Even better news!
World of Darkness is expected to show its face at EVE Fanfest 2011, which takes place at CCP HQ in Iceland from 24th March to 26th March. The event had been scheduled to take place this year but was moved to be both more convenient and more revealing.
Oh my… god! Finally we have it – After about four years of waiting. The first (artwork) trailer for the first really interesting upcoming MMORPG ever!
Some more infos from this blog:
UPDATE #2: Looks like it’s called “World of Darkness“. But it’ll be based on Vampire: The Masquerade (which, for those not in the know, is the older version of the Vampire RPG.)
UPDATE #3: “MMO will have a focus on player politics and social interaction.” Not unexpected, given it’s CCP, and given the nature of the property itself.
UPDATE #4: Confirmed via multiple reports to be Vampire-only. At least at first. We’ll all be curious to find out just how much this particular door has been left ajar.
UPDATE #5: Three terms that were tossed out in terms of playstyles the game will enable were “Sandbox“, “Themepark“, and “Coffee Shop“.
Without any further words:
Even though artwork trailers never represent what the final game will look like, this just looks awe-some!
